The Regenerators
Another exciting commission completed for BBC Bitesize.
The Regenerators is an initiative to inspire children aged between 5-16 to lead a greener lifestyle.
The team at Tentacle worked hard to develop and produce a series of 10 animations, for the ever growing online Bitesize platform. The animations focused on topics ranging from climate change to how animals became extinct!
'More than 1 million species are at risk of extinction by climate change'
Helping raise awareness about the wellbeing of our planet is a big and important topic right now! We at Tentacle believe that educating the next generation about these issues is vital in making a difference in the future.
The initiative is backed by broadcasters Konnie Huq, Cel Spellman, and Dr Amir Khan who front a number of the resources to encourage kids to make a change.
Konnie says: “I’m passionate about the environment and sustainability and as a mum want to encourage my kids to care for the planet. I’ve made a number of lifestyle changes including no longer buying clothes. I’m not growing, and I’ve got so many I reuse those I have as much as possible. I drive an electric car and I pretty much only buy things if there is no other option.”
Through BBC Bitesize, The Regenerators will support primary school teachers to deliver lessons on the environment and sustainability.
A series of online resources, featuring videos, quizzes, activities and tips will cover key topics around climate change and the environment, allowing teachers to bring the best of the BBC’s content directly into the classroom.

The Solution
We wanted the content to be fun, relatable and full of Tentacle pizzazz! We focused on a mix of media using photos and graphics to allow the children to easily relate to the topic.
The videos follow the earth as a central character, along with animated animals and items that pop up along the way.
Googly eyes! I think thats the key here, we wanted to make it as engaging and fun for the target age group as we could.
Its a fantastic educational campaign to inspire every child. Go check out the content, the website is crammed with exciting new content!
Hope you enjoyed!
